Don’t miss it…

With Big Day Out 2013 fast approaching here’s a quick reminder of the great fun that was had last year!

“In 2012 we were challenged from Colossians 1 to remember that the world is not created for us and our pleasure, but instead it was created by and for Christ. In particular the challenge was to have a bigger picture of who Jesus is and what he has done for us. All too often as we grow older and get busier our world seems to get bigger and Christ seems to get smaller, small enough so that we can fi t in him. If he is the centre of all things then surely he should be front and centre of our lives?

We were challenged to remember that we exist to proclaim Christ so that people might be presented perfect in him. Colossians 1:28 was left ringing in our ears:
We proclaim Christ, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
What an encouragement it was to meet with people from all the different congregations and share fellowship. In particular to hear Kate, Gary and Diana’s stories of how God has brought them to faith in Christ. What a privilege to be able to join with Kate, Diana and Allen as they were baptised.
We had a wonderful opportunity to hear about and see so many of the things we do together as a church. We heard about the joys but also the struggles and needs of some of those ministries. We were encouraged to pray, serve and give to support what we are doing. In particular, the current
needs of the church in these areas were put before us to prayerfully consider our role.
What great weather, what a fun afternoon on the jumping castles and playing games.  Make sure you put in the date for next year!”
